Daly Seven Hotels bought land in Durham and near RDU for future hotel development, adding two more Triangle sites to its pipeline. The family-owned company is also building a 250-room hotel in Cary, Triangle Business Journal reported.

One site is near Duke Hospital. The second is near Raleigh-Durham International Airport, pointing to two different demand bases for the company's next projects: hospital-area stays in Durham and airport traffic closer to RDU.

  • Daly Seven is based in Greensboro and operates hotels across North Carolina, based on the Triangle Business Journal report.
  • In 2024, Driftwood Capital bought the 225-room Marriott Raleigh Durham Research Triangle Park at 4700 Guardian Drive and said it planned about $9M in renovations.
  • That Marriott, built in 1988, sits about a mile from Hub RTP and was financed with a multi-million, two-year loan with three one-year extension options.

The Triangle Business Journal preview does not say how many rooms Daly Seven plans for the Durham site or when construction could start.

What's next: The size, brand, and timeline for the Durham and RDU-area projects are still missing.
