Duke's men's season ended Sunday on a 73-72 loss to UConn in the East Regional final, one possession short of a Final Four trip. Less than a day earlier, Duke's women were knocked out of the NCAA tournament by UCLA, 72-65, in the Spokane 1 Regional final.

The men's loss turned on the final seconds in Washington. Duke led 72-70 after Cam Boozer scored with 28.9 seconds left. UConn's Silas Demary Jr. made one free throw with 10 seconds remaining. On Duke's next possession, Cayden Boozer turned the ball over near midcourt under a double team. Braylon Mullins then hit a 30-foot 3-pointer with less than a second left.

  • Jon Scheyer said after the game that he "could not be more disappointed" and called the ending hard for his players to absorb.
  • Cam Boozer's late basket briefly put Duke in position to close out the game, but the turnover gave UConn one last shot.
  • The loss kept Duke from returning to the men's Final Four, extending a drought that now reaches back to 2022.

On the women's side, Duke's run stopped one game short of the program's first Final Four since 2006.

  • UCLA advanced behind a second-half push after Duke stayed within reach deep into the fourth quarter.
  • The back-to-back exits closed the weekend with both of Durham's highest-profile college teams falling in regional finals, leaving Cameron's 2025-26 postseason run over on both sides.
