To publicly say thank you y'all are the best people in the whole wide world and y'all did not take a curtain call and that is a classy thing to do I saw other elected officials taking curtain calls for y'all work it didn't sit with me well so thank y'all for being classy thank y'all for taking care of our folks and U making sure nobody had to be cold or hungry last week I appreciate it also are we sharing on our website I know that Duke Energy does have a form set up for folks who lost food food that might have spoiled in the deep freezer and refrigerator so I just want to continue to make sure that we share that so we can at least try to help people recruit what they can that they by a loss last week and that's all the only announcement thank you Vice chair Burns commissioner Jacobs I just wanted to piggyback on what commissioner Burns just said we had DSS staff who.
Were were working at the shelter we had public health staff we had our library staff who were helping with the warming stations it was a fullon county Durham County team effort so thank you to everyone thank you and also thank you to the small businesses that stepped up and I know helped provide some of those meals hot meals for families especially the kids who were in the schools that had been closed down to the power issue to make sure they still receive breakfast and lunch and meals during that time announcements on the side okay I will now ask if there's any adjustments to the agenda sorry I skipped over that before okay seeing no adjustments we will move on to the minutes of seeking approval for our work session January 2nd 2024 minutes and our regular session on January 8 2024 minutes to approve those so move second okay moved by commissioner Jacob seconded by Vice chair Burns all in favor say I I I any opposed okay minutes are approved 5 to.
Zero we'll now reach our consent agenda the consent agenda is filled with items that our staff and management have all worked tirelessly on and presented to us at work sessions and worked with us to educate us and give us an opportunity to ask ask questions in the community to learn about I will ask and see if there are any questions or items that Commissioners would like to pull from the consent agenda commissioner Jacob yeah I I just want to note these are actually things that we didn't make it on to the work session but I I did want to just draw attention to the two items about the Lincoln Community Health Center parking lot expansion I see Brenda and Perry sitting out here these are items that have been really we've been working really hard to move forward for a long time and I know that Lincoln Community Health Center staff are going to really really appreciate the parking lot expansion so I'm very excited about that I do have a question about.
24-32 the DSs building expansion of the or kind of updating the RFP with the development Finance Institute I am thrilled thank you Madame manager for moving this forward I do have a question about the scope of work for this and because I'm so glad that they're going back and we're getting this moving in since it's been three years and not only have some of the economic conditions changed but also even thinking about the needs of our community I didn't see anything in there that was related to kind of getting Community input and engagement again or revisiting kind of what are going to be the priorities if we do an AR do an RFP for this just wondering about that piece of that because they helped us with that as well in the past so this extension is really to help update the information I think it's been about two or three years since you all saw this and and so they're going to go back and revine refine and revisit some of the.
Information in there that'll help inform what will go in the RFP and we're looking to make the RFP broad enough to get ideas for what we can do with the building and then once we make a selection then have those Community conversations about how we outfit it sounds great thank you so much other questions I seeing no more questions do we hear an approval for this consent agenda second moveed by commissioner Auten seconded by Vice chair Burns all in favor I I any opposed motion to approve the consent agenda passes 5 to zero that moves us forward to yes and I want to offer commissioner burn Vice chair Burns a point of personal privilege somebody must have done something something really bad today cuz my mama just walked in I don't know which one of y'all it was she has never walked into these Chambers but my mama just walked in I'm just putting everybody on notice because I am not the dangerous one so I'm joking she's hey.
