Chicken Salad Chick is planning its first Durham location at Renaissance Center, the shopping center at 6901 Fayetteville Road across from The Streets at Southpoint. The chain told a Durham opening by Q2 2026 and leasing documents show it taking about 3,100 square feet next to Moe's Southwest Grill.
The restaurant will join a busy South Durham retail strip anchored by Nordstrom Rack, Best Buy, and REI. Chicken Salad Chick already has Triangle locations in Raleigh, Cary, and Smithfield.
- The Alabama-based chain was founded in 2008 and now operates in nearly two dozen states.
- Its menu centers on more than a dozen chicken salad flavors, along with pimento cheese, soups, and side dishes including fruit, pasta salad, and mac and cheese.
- Scoop meals start around $10, and sandwich meals start around $11, according to the company's published menu.
The planned Durham store adds another national fast-casual tenant to the Fayetteville Road corridor near Southpoint, where chain restaurants already make up much of the dining mix.
The opening timeline still leaves about a year before the shop is expected to start serving from its space beside Moe's at Renaissance Center.
