The collectible toy brand behind the Labubu craze is coming to The Streets at Southpoint. Pop Mart hasn't shared when it will open or how big the space will be.
Pop Mart has no permanent brick-and-mortar stores in North Carolina yet. A Crabtree Valley Mall location is opening this spring, which would make Southpoint its second in the state. For now, the only physical presence in NC is a pair of Robo Shop vending machines in Fayetteville and Concord.
Southpoint has been on a run. Since late 2024, the mall has added Dick's House of Sport in the old Sears space, jewelry brand Gorjana, plus Aritzia, Alo Yoga, Vuori, PacSun, and The Lego Store. Capital One Café recently opened in the former California Pizza Kitchen space. Loft closed this year after Brookfield Properties declined to renew the lease. One departure in a stretch of arrivals.
Brookfield VP of leasing Steve Bolger has said Southpoint specifically targets first-market tenants. Brands opening their first Triangle location at the Durham mall. Pop Mart fits that pattern, arriving with no Triangle footprint at all.
Looking ahead: Pop Mart's Crabtree store opens this spring, and the Durham location's timeline will likely follow once details are finalized.
